Atlas Carbon, LLC was founded in 2014 and is based in Gillette, Wyoming.
We produce activated carbon products that make the world a cleaner and healthier place using an environmentally friendly process that was developed and patented by our Chief Technology Officer, Michael Jones.
The plant in Gillette, WY has the ability and capacity to produce activated carbon products to meet a multitude of applications and specifications for domestic delivery.

Chairman, President & CEO
Frank L. Levy began his career at L&L Oil Company, Inc. in 1972 working in all facets of the business and eventually becoming the principle owner and CEO. In 1998, Mr. Levy sold the company, but remained as the Americas region President and a member of the Board of Directors for the parent company. Mr. Levy began investing in commercial real estate and startup companies in 2001 and has commercial real estate in Florida, Mississippi, the Bahamas, and Louisiana. His company Pneumatic Processing Technologies, LLC, developed the flash calcining technology used by Atlas Carbon, LLC today. Mr. Levy has served on the Boards of the Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission, National World War II Museum, Isidore Newman School, Longue Vue House & Gardens, the Semreh Club and YPO/WPO. He graduated from Tulane University and has been married for 35 years with three grown children.
Michael A Jones
Chief Technology Officer
Michael A. Jones has over 25 years of experience in engineering focused on thermal processing and environmental science. He is the sole inventor of the Pneumatic Flash Calcination (PFC) process and holds numerous patents. Mr. Jones started his career in the limestone and lime production business as a plant operator and advanced to the role of plant manager, while developing a lifelong interest in thermal processing. In addition to design, operations, and management, Mr. Jones has consulted for the utility industry on industrial minerals applications, relating primarily to water treatment and emissions control equipment and processes. Mr. Jones was awarded the Activated Carbon Hall of Fame Award at the 34th International Activated Carbon Conference by his peers in the industry in recognition of the many valuable contributions he has made in the activated carbon industry. He has been married for over 23 years, has six children, and currently resides in Gillette, Wyoming.
Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Amy E. Cooper is a global sales & business development leader in the chemicals and coatings industry. She brings over 20 years of customer-facing technical, sales, and marketing experience to Atlas executive team. She has been recognized multiple times for sales and strategic growth achievements during her career. As a Global Product Manager at DuPont, she was instrumental in growing the portfolio of licensed products by 20%. She joined the Chemours Company as the Global Business Development Leader for the licensing program and increased annual sales revenue by 180% with product sales in over 65 countries. She joined Atlas Carbon's executive management team in 2020. Ms. Cooper holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and will complete her MBA in from Wilmington University in 2020. Ms. Cooper is married, has 2 children, and currently resides in Wilmington, DE.
